Record the product or app mode, then locate the symbol in its own help text.
Compare carefully
If two sources use a similar symbol, write their definitions side by side. Similar artwork alone does not settle a difference.
Ask a precise question
Include the location and proposed move. This gives another reader a situation to examine instead of a vague symbol question.
